It is borderline conspiracy nutter’ish to suggest anything but the reason few black people are nominated at this year’s Oscars, is cos they simply didn’t make the cut. And we are of course talking about self-identified blacks. Not any of the other minorities. Minority X cares only about its own minority. Have you ever heard a black person complain that Asians or browns were not represented enough at the Oscars?
Nope. Cos lets me honest here. Instead of saying “Minorities should be represented at the Oscars,” what this is REALLY about is “I want ME and who I identify as to be represented at the Oscars.” Depending on who you are, that might not always happen. And cos it is who you identify as, it becomes a personal rejection of sorts.
So instead of saying “minority” when you complain. Please be honest and say, “I want ME represented.” Don’t pretend you care about any other minority but your own.
Anyway, I had to throw my opinion about this out there. All this shit is starting to annoy me. lol
